On 28th November the Agri-Food Chain Coalition (AFCC), of which CEMA is a member, organised an event in the European Parliament to highlight the contribution that the sector gives to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

The Agri-Food Chain Coalition is a joint initiative bringing together 12 industry associations of the agriculture and food sector in Europe; the AFCC aims at promoting in EU policy the role of innovation for and in agriculture to sustain healthy, high-quality and affordable food production and related consumer choice.

The event, aptly titled “Delivering on the SDGs through innovation in the agri-food chain”, was hosted by MEP Eva Kailli (S&D), and saw presentations from FAO, KeyGene, an SME active in the field of plant breeding innovation, the Council of Young Farmers (CEJA), and CEMA.

On the occasion of the event the AFCC partners also prepared a document outlining examples of their own industry’s contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals. You can find the document below.
