Climate change and Soil health & food ‘Missions’ of interest for CEMA members

***

The EU Commission has recently launched a call for experts to join 'Mission Boards', which will advise on the planning and implementation of Horizon Europe, the next EU Research and Innovation Programme.

Horizon Europe will consist of five “Missions”, one for each of the following areas:

  1. Adaptation to climate change including societal transformation;
  2. Cancer;
  3. Healthy oceans, seas, coastal and inland waters;
  4. Climate-neutral and smart cities;
  5. Soil health and food.

The first and latter missions are expected to be the most relevant for CEMA members and companies.

Since the first task of such 'Mission Boards' will be to identify and design one or more specific missions/ objectives for each of the mission areas, and to advise on the content of the future work programmes (and related calls for proposals), it will be worth to have some industrial representatives inside the 'Mission Boards'.

The call for applications and related templates to be filled are available online.  The deadline for applications is 11 June 2019 at 12:00 o’clock (CET). Each one of the five 'Mission Boards' shall consist of up to 15 members.
