Consultation on Horizon Europe - next EU research programme - is ONGOING

On the 4th of July, CEMA attended the Information Day on Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 2 "Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, Marine, Maritime and Inland Water Research and the Bioeconomy" and focused on 2020 calls for proposals.

Highlights on the forthcoming calls and insights into the next Research and Innovation Programme, Horizon Europe, that will start running in 2021 were presented. A presentation on the future of agricultural research can be found at the event webpage, together with all day’s presentations.

An open consultation for the implementation of Horizon Europe is also running until 8 of September, check it here. The consultation has been recently launched by the European Commission to collect inputs and prepare the 'Strategic Plan' for Horizon Europe, which will then guide the work programmes and calls for proposals for Horizon Europe's first four years (2021-2024).

Horizon Europe will be officially launched during the European Research and Innovation Days, taking place in Brussels from 24 to 26 September 2019.

Coming back to the Info Day, the parallel sessions in the afternoon provided an overview of the 2020 Work Programme topics grouped around the following themes:

Some of the topics covered, particularly under the “Sustainable farming and agricultural value chains” theme, could be of high interest for CEMA and its members, as they cover top priorities matters, such as soil management, circular bio-based economy, cooperation with Africa and, of course, Thematic Networks. The list below highlights the most interesting calls presented:

The complete list of topics presented during the info-day is available at the following link.
