Precision farming technologies as part as the support farm-level measures enabling adaptation in the agriculture sector

The European Environment Agency EEA recently released an extensive report on how changes in temperature, precipitation, weather as well as climate extremes are already influencing crop yields and livestock productivity in Europe.

In six chapters the EEA covers changes in agricultural practices, main causes contributing to climate change, actions foreseen by European policies as well as a number of possible responses to increase the adaptation of the agriculture sector among them the use of precision farming technologies.

The EEA report also covers how the EU strategy on climate change and the CAP policy to support farm-level measures can enable adaptation in the agriculture sector.
