Six crucial initiatives will articulate the work for the coming years

The European Commission Work Programme 2020, setting out the actions for the entire year, has just been released.
Already in July 2019 Ursula von der Leyen announced the EU's Executive's six priorities to the European Parliament and the final document was approved by EP and Council at the end of 2019.
In name of the transition to a fair, climate-neutral and digital Europe, the Work Programme 2020 outlines six crucial initiatives under which 43 new policy objectives will be the bulk of Commission’s work in its first year.
The most high lined ambition is The European Green Deal, which brings policies for the transformative change throughout all sectors. The emphasis is on the European Climate Law aiming to deliver climate neutrality by 2050 and A Farm to Fork Strategy supporting the farmers in a more sustainable way. A Europe fit for the digital age is the second initiative that brings further strong cybersecurity and digitalization in the EU. An Industrial Strategy for Europe will support an ecological and digital transition, as SME Strategy with focus on businesses. Following initiative An economy that works for people announces a Business Taxation for the 21st century, whether A stronger Europe in the world calls for strengthen boundaries and cooperation, presenting the aim in a Strategy with Africa. An initiative Promoting our European way of life focusing on health, education and security, foregoes the last ambition A new push for European democracy that aims towards democracy, equality and consumer agenda.
There are still 34 proposals for withdrawal and repeal, awaiting a decision by the European Parliament and the Council, as the Commission aims to find better ways to pursue the objectives.
CEMA will closely follow the upcoming legislative dossiers on the revision of the Machinery Directive and a potential Regulation on road circulation for non-mobile machinery. In terms of horizontal strategies, CEMA will devote special attention to the ‘Farm to Fork’ Strategy and its impact on the CAP, An Industrial Strategy for Europe and SME strategy, the New Circular Economy Action Plan or the European Strategy for Data.
A full review of the work program is scheduled with the CEMA Strategic Committee and the CEMA Board for prioritization.
