CEMA as part of the Industry4Europe Coalition – made of 148 sector Associations representing the diversity and interests of the EU’s industrial base – supported an event on 21 January that put on top of the Croatian EU’s presidency agenda the seven key policy areas necessary to define a new EU Industrial Strategy.

In a very well-attended event, hosted by the Croatian Ambassador Goran Štefanić, Deputy Permanent Representative of Croatia to the European Union, numerous representatives from the EU institutions* – Parliament, Commission, Council - discussed with industry delegates about the need to reinforce synergies between EU industrial and environmental policies with the #EUGreenDeal to make it a success. “The transition towards a carbon-neutral economy cannot be achieved by industry alone” pointed out Mr Christian Buşoi, Chairman of the ITRE Committee of the European Parliament. The need to promote and facilitate the digital transformation of industry was another top priority stressed for the upcoming #EU Industrial Strategy.
