It amends Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 as regards its transitional provisions in order to address the impact of the COVID-19 crisis. This Regulation enters into force as of today. It is binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States (Text with EEA relevance). It shall apply from 1st July 2020.

CEMA and the other Non Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM) associations CECE, EGMF, EUnited Municipal Equipment & Cleaning, Europgen and FEM warmly welcome the conclusion of this legislative file. A joint press statement can be found here, which follows on the European Parliament vote on 10th July found here.

It should be noted that NRMM and tractors fitted with transition engines between 56kW and 130kW are not affected by this extension and retain the applicable 2021 deadlines.

Therefore, the sector calls on the European Commission to continue to monitor the effect of COVID-19 on the industry and conduct a timely assessment of this impact regarding upcoming deadlines, submitting a new report to Parliament and undertaking new legislative actions as appropriate.
