CEMA Secretary General as part of the industry delegation

The Industry4Europe coalition met last 19th of February with Mr Janne Känkänen, Under-Secretary of State for EU and International Affairs at the Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and new Chair of the Council High Level Working Group on Competitiveness and Growth.

The Industry4Europe delegation was composed of 14 leaders from the following Associations: ALIPA/ISOPA, ASD, CECE, CECIMO, CEMA, CEPI, Construction Products Europe, EUGINE/EUTurbines, Eurometaux, European Aluminium, NIA, UEPG, WindEurope and UNIFE (as Coordinator of the coalition).

This meeting was the occasion to convey key messages regarding the need for an ambitious EU industrial strategy and to discuss with Mr Känkänen both the 18-month Work Programme of the Council High-Level Group and the priorities of the incoming Finnish Presidency of the Council which will ocus on a “Growth strategy for Europe”.


Next actions

The Industry4Europe coalition will organise a high-level roundtable on “EU Industrial Policy: results and prospects for the next institutional cycle” which the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) on 7 March at 17:00 in the premises of the EESC.


Industry4Europe is a coalition bringing together 138 European federations – representing all industrial sectors – who have come together to make sure that Europe will maintain its world leadership and safeguard industrial jobs and know-how on the continent.
