The general Business Climate Index for the Agricultural Machinery Industry in Europe has stabilized at high level again in December after several months of slight downward correction since its record peak in May and June (where it reached its highest level since 2008). In December, the index increased slightly to 56 points (on a scale of -100 to +100).
Price increases and severe shortages on the supplier side continue to challenge the industry at present, and once again almost half of the companies are planning a temporarily production stop due to a shortage of certain parts in the coming four weeks. However, against this backdrop, growth appears to be merely delayed into next year. Order volumes are at record highs and the overall market sentiment is still positive for the time being.
The representatives of the European industry look forward with confidence to the coming year. For 2022, the survey participants expect for their company an increase in turnover of +7% (arithmetic mean) or +5% (median).
