"Lead" may become a substance subject to authorization under the REACH legislation (Reg. 1907/2006/EC).

The role of agricultural machinery manufacturers—who produce the final product—remains unclear in cases where a substance like lead is used in different forms, whether as part of an article or as a substance on its own, within the REACH Authorization process.

This presentation, prepared by CEMA members, explores the potential inclusion of lead in the REACH Authorization List and provides general guidance on whether agricultural vehicle and machinery manufacturers may need to apply for authorization. The guidance is also applicable to other substances subject to REACH authorization.
