All Members of the European Parliament of the Environment Committee received the message that the European industry strongly supports the increase of flexibility provisions as suggested by the European Commission:
  • The increased flexibility will avoid peak engineering costs in still difficult times
  • The late availability of suitable engines would otherwise endanger the availability of machinery
  • The environmental impact is marginal as proved by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission
  • Similar provisions are available in the USA
The proposal needs to be aligned with the proposal for increased flexibility for tractors
To support their voting on the 114 amendments, they received the common recommendations of CECE and CEMA.
