2019 has been a hectic year...

Dear CEMA friends,

2019 has been a hectic year: European Elections, many new members of the European Parliament, Brexit, CAP negotiations, and a renewed European Commission that undoubtedly will mark pace on the European agenda for the next five years.

Maybe because it is time to think about new resolutions, 2020 could set the milestones for a greener and more sustainable future for all European citizens. Following 'COP 25' which took place in Madrid last week, we have indeed to recognise the EU has made the biggest commitment among the developed regions to become a climate-neutral continent by 2050. The European Green Deal has been announced with a paramount of measures that - acting across European policies – aim to improve the well-being of individuals, businesses and society as a whole.

The Agricultural Machinery Industry will pay special attention to the upcoming #FarmtoFork strategy, a roadmap for making our food systems more sustainable by turning climate & environmental challenges into opportunities. We will also scrutinize the many other initiatives scheduled in the new EU Executive work program, expected late January. Advanced agricultural machinery and solutions have their role to play, provided a supportive framework enables sustainable farming to further develop.

Our team thanks all the stakeholders that worked with us over the past twelve months, and we wish you health, happiness and success in 2020.

Yours faithfully,

Jerome Bandry
